Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has confirmed Chris Wood is joining Nottingham Forest.
The striker is set to sign Forest on-loan to the end of the season.
Howe said, "Chris is at Forest for a medical check-up right now as we speak. That's the situation.
"He has been a huge gain for us and in every way fantastic to have in the squad.
"When we brought him in, we were in a difficult situation, so we must not underestimate the role he has played in the club's progress."
