Newcastle United fullback Kieran Trippier says assistant manager Jason Tindall can handle player wind-ups.

Tindall is now famous for always being front and centre on matchday and taking a lot of the spotlight from manager Eddie Howe.

"I've known JT for many years, going back to my Burnley days," Trippier told Sky Sports. "The manager is the manager so JT is the one to go to if you need anything.

"As you see on social media, he's a meme. We hammer him about it. He just laughs because him and the manager have a great relationship.

"They have a great understanding on the touchline and that's how it's always been from the Bournemouth days as well so it's funny. He gets hammered for it. Don't worry about that."
