Newcastle United are considering a takeover of a Belgian football club in the coming weeks.
Per Het Nieuwsblad, a delegation from Newcastle was at KV Oostende and held talks over a possible takeover.
The Belgian side are no longer a Pro League club, which means their ten year spell in the top flight is over.
The club's owners have also been speaking with the Chinese ownership at Wolves, per the same report.
The team may think that linking up with a Premier League side can assure their financial future.
The Premier League teams would use KV Oostende to place young players they cannot field in the first team, either due to the player not being ready or not having a work permit.
