Newcastle midfielder Joelinton hailed victory over Chelsea.
Joelinton struck in the 4-1 win.
He said: "We have a great squad, with great character. The gaffer made a great point, think what we have not what we don't have. We had to go on the pitch and fight, and show how strong the team is.
"Everyone who comes in knows what to do. We were disappointed after the last game, we didn't play well. We started this game well, showed a lot of energy, wanting to prove how strong we are, and I think we did.
"This win makes everyone feel confident. We have to go game by game, but we take a game at a time, now we rest and prepare for Paris on Tuesday."
On playing multiple positions, he added: "I like to play in the middle, but the gaffer knows he can count on me to play wide or as a striker. I will try my best to help the team like I always do, whichever position the gaffer plays us."
