Newcastle United have been sending scouts to watch Blackburn Rovers this season.
The Magpies are extremely keen to check out teenage midfielder Adam Wharton.
The 18-year-old has been assessed by sporting director Dan Ashworth and scout Mick Tait in recent months.
Wharton has played 21 games for the Rovers senior side so far this season.
Per The Mail, Blackburn are not eager to sell the young talent for anything other than a huge price.
They believe he is best served staying at Ewood Park to continue his development.
