Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon was happy with victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Gordon struck for the 4-0 win against the Eagles.
He later said: "It was a good performance. We thought it would be a difficult game because they have been a strong team this year and we had to be on top form."
On scoring, he said: "It is what will take me to the next step of where I want to be. I work on it on the training pitch. I am in a great place, I am enjoying my football and just had a baby, so a great two weeks."
On Sandro Tonali reaction from fans, Gordon added: "The fans today when Sandro came on and even before that were incredible. They always support their players. We can only support him, we understand it is a very difficult time for him and his family."
