Callista Gingrich’s “robotic” video message to World Cup 2026 fans has been mocked by social media users as Team USA returns to action against Australia.
In a video message posted just before the tournament began, the current US Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, and wife of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, said that the 11 host cities in the US were “eagerly awaiting” thousands of fans for the competition.
“We look forward to welcoming you to the United States for this historic tournament,” she said as she addressed the camera.
Social media users flooded the comment section with remarks about Ms Gingrich’s awkward delivery, with many comparing it to AI.
“Ah yes thank you fellow human (totally real human) you are doing amazing being a real human today!,” joked one user.
