Neymar has taken aim at a German expert who claimed that Brazil would lose their World Cup round of 32 clash against Japan.

Gabriel Martinelli’s stoppage time winner spared the five-time winners’ blushes as they initially fell a goal behind.

The Santos star didn’t get on the pitch to help his teammates but couldn’t resist a cheeky jibe at the German economist that predicted the downfall.

Neymar’s response to German economist after Japan win

Immediately after the full-time whistle, Neymar was straight onto X to respond, saying: “Mr. Joachim Klement… Please try again in the next World Cup,” before ending his post with a winked-face emoji.

Joachim Klement has developed a reputation for predicting the future and has correctly predicted the winner of every World Cup since 2014.

Brazil have been the tournament favourites for many, except Klement, who tipped Japan to cause an upset.

He uses mathematical models to predict his overall winners and has said that the Netherlands will be crowned as this year’s winners.

Why didn’t Neymar play against Japan?

We have seen very little of Neymar so far this tournament. His only World Cup appearance came off the bench against Scotland.

There is still time to see him and Ancelotti admitted that he would’ve called upon the forward had the game gone to extra-time.

“I was saving Neymar for extra time. I spoke with him, and if we hadn’t equalised, he would have come on in the 60th or 65th minute,” he said.

“But we equalised, and I didn’t want to change the team’s shape because we were controlling the match.”
