- The 31-year-old Australian submitted a sample containing benzoylecgonine at the Mallorca Open in June and has been serving a ban since 4 August.
- Kyrgios admitted on social media that he made a huge mistake, taking full responsibility and apologised to his fans, family and sponsors.
- He cited the severe physical and mental toll of recent injuries and coming to terms with the end of his career as context for his personal struggles.
- Pending the outcome of a tribunal, Kyrgios is prohibited from playing, coaching, or attending any sanctioned tennis events.
