GEORGE TOWN, Sept 2 — The George Town-bound stretch of the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway will undergo temporary nightly closures and traffic diversions from Sept 7 to 9 to facilitate ongoing highway construction works.
The developer of The Light Waterfront Penang, IJM Land Berhad, announced that the closures will take effect from 10pm to 5am daily along the section from the Jalan Tunku Kudin junction to Jalan Ahmad Nor.
The temporary disruption is to allow for the construction of an elevated U-turn facility, which is designed to complement the upcoming Air Itam Bypass and ease overall traffic congestion along the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway.
Motorists travelling towards George Town during these hours are advised to plan their journeys in advance, adhere strictly to on-site directional traffic signage, and drive with caution when approaching the construction zone to ensure public safety.
