johardy04/03/2026 - 09:00 by JOHARDY IBRAHIM editor@dagangnews.com KUALA LUMPUR 4 March – Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) today launched the All-New Nissan Serena e-POWER in Malaysia, introducing the sixth-generation model with prices ranging from RM154,800 to RM179,800 (on-the-road, without insurance, for Peninsular Malaysia).
Unveiled at the Nissan 3S Flagship Store in Petaling Jaya, the latest Serena underscores Nissan’s effort to expand its electrified line-up in the country amid growing demand for hybrid and EV alternatives in the MPV segment.
The Serena, in the market since the 1990s, remains one of Nissan’s longest-running nameplates and a key contributor in the family-oriented MPV category.
Fully electric motor-driven system
Unlike conventional hybrids, the Serena e-POWER is driven solely by an electric motor producing 163PS and 315Nm of torque.
A 1.4-litre HR14DDe petrol engine functions exclusively as a generator, charging the 1.77kWh lithium-ion battery and supplying power to the motor when required. This configuration enables EV-like acceleration without the need for external charging.
ETCM said fuel consumption is rated at 18.5km per litre (NEDC), translating into a potential driving range of up to 1,000km per tank.
The model features three drive modes — Standard, Sport and Eco — along with Nissan’s e-Pedal Step function for one-pedal driving in urban traffic.

Focus on comfort and refinement
Beyond electrification, Nissan has emphasised ride comfort and cabin refinement.
Enhanced insulation, an acoustic windscreen and revised suspension tuning aim to reduce cabin noise and improve overall ride quality.
The first- and second-row seats adopt Nissan’s Zero Gravity design to enhance support and reduce fatigue during long journeys.
Aerodynamic improvements and chassis rigidity enhancements were also introduced to improve stability and minimise passenger discomfort.
High-tech interior, practical layout
Inside, the Serena e-POWER features dual 12.3-inch displays and a redesigned centre console with touch-sensitive air-conditioning controls.

Practicality remains central to the model’s positioning, with 13 seating configurations, long-sliding second-row captain seats, cabin walk-through access and hands-free powered sliding doors.
Additional convenience features include multiple USB ports across all rows, numerous storage compartments and a wireless charging pad.

Nissan ProPILOT debuts in Malaysia
On the safety front, the Serena e-POWER is equipped with six airbags and a suite of active safety technologies under Nissan Intelligent Mobility and the 360° Nissan Safety Shield.
These include Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and an Intelligent Around View Monitor.
The model also marks the Malaysian debut of Nissan ProPILOT, integrating adaptive cruise control, lane intervention and blind spot intervention to assist drivers during highway journeys and reduce fatigue.
