
The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra, organised a cycle rally under the nationwide “Sundays on Cycle” campaign on Sunday.
The cycle rally was organised under the aegis of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA). The event was coordinated by the physical education and sports section with the objective of promoting physical fitness, environmental sustainability and social responsibility among the institute community.
A spokesperson of NIT-Kurukshetra said the campaign was a flagship initiative of the Fit India Movement and was actively supported by the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The event at NIT-Kurukshetra commenced from the Sports Complex and witnessed participation from faculty members, staff, students and their family members.
Prof Sathans, RCI Coordinator, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, appreciated the efforts of the institute in organising activities that integrate fitness with social and environmental awareness. The rally was flagged off by Prof Lillie Dewan, Dean (Students’ Welfare), NIT-Kurukshetra, who encouraged participants to adopt cycling as a healthy and eco-friendly mode of transportation.
The participants displayed great enthusiasm throughout the rally, conveying the message of fitness, environmental conservation and community engagement. The event concluded with a collective pledge to continue supporting initiatives that contribute to personal well-being, sustainable living and nation-building.
