NLEX Corp. net climbs to P14B

NLEX Corp. said its net income rose 18 percent to P14.28 billion in 2025 from P12.07 billion a year earlier, driven by higher toll revenues and effective cost management.

Toll revenues reached P29.75 billion, 18-percent higher due to higher traffic figures and implementation of overdue toll rate adjustments.

Seventy-seven percent of the revenues came from North Luzon Expressway (NLEx), 18 percent from Subic Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) and five percent from the NLEx Connector Road.

The average daily traffic for NLEx reached 355,561 daily entries last year while the SCTEx average was 81,528 vehicle entries.

Traffic figures were higher than 2024 figures by one percent and three percent, respectively, because of the sustained recovery in travel demand and implementation of toll rate adjustments during the year.

In addition, NLEx Connector traffic reached 21,382 daily entries, up by 69 percent since partial commercial operations of Section 1 started on Aug. 8, 2023.

NLEX also generated revenues from toll services facilities amounting to P141 million, slightly below by 6 percent versus the P150 million recorded in 2024.

The company’s cost of services rose to P10.08 billion, 20 percent higher than prior year figures.

The increase was primarily driven by higher concession and Philippine National Construction fees that were charged as a fixed percentage of toll revenues, as well as increased pavement repairs and maintenance costs for roads and tollways.

Outside services and personnel costs also grew, along with higher amortization of concession assets due to increased traffic volume. TMT
