
MANILA, Philippines — NLEX and Phoenix jumped off to a 2-0 start after beating separate foes on Sunday in the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup at the the Ynares Center in Montalban, Rizal.
Cady Lallane delivered 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Schonny Winston had 14, six boards and six assists to steer NLEX past Magnolia, 112-105.
The Road Warriors moved up to 2-0 to forge a three-way logjam at the top of the standings with Terrafirma and Phoenix.
The Hotshots dropped their second straight game after blowing a 13-point advantage.
Phoenix secured its second straight win under new coach Charles Tiu behind its 109-76 rout of Titan Ultra.
James Dickey registered a double-17 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Fuel Masters.
"You can't take any win in the PBA for granted, being part of the PBA all these years," said Tiu after the game.
"It's hard to win any game against any team. So we're happy were able to get back-to-back wins."
Big man Kenneth Tuffin also scored 17 points for Phoenix, while Evan Nelle had 14.
