KUALA LUMPUR – Imigresen FC, recently promoted to the Super League, is facing a new challenge as they have yet to secure a home ground for the upcoming season.

MFL CEO Shazli Shaik said that the club needs to make a decision quickly, ideally by Saturday, since most other teams have already secured their venues.

"We haven't heard back from Imigresen FC, who had earlier designated the Darul Aman Stadium in Kedah as their home ground. However, we've found out that the stadium is no longer an option.

“We require confirmation by this Saturday or by July 5 at the latest. The choice is up to Imigresen FC, but we know they are looking for a location in the northern part of the country," he said after the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) first Extraordinary Congress of 2025 at the Dorsett Hotel in Subang Jaya yesterday.

Imigresen FC had shown interest in making Darul Aman Stadium their home ground after Kedah FC was unable to obtain a national club license from the governing body.

However, Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Sanusi Md Nor, who is also the Kedah Football Association president, said that they would not allow Imigresen FC to use the stadium.

This decision is due to Kedah FA and Kedah FC continuing to use the venue for the 2025/2026 A1 Semi-Pro League, which means Imigresen FC will need to look for other options.

It is understood that if they want to stay in the northern region, they could consider venues like Bandaraya Stadium or Batu Kawan Stadium in Penang, or any available facilities in Perak.

“Currently, nearly all clubs have finalised their home venues, with the exception of Imigresen FC. It's important to note that next Wednesday, the MFL will start inspecting all the venues.

“This is to verify that each stadium meets the required standards regarding competition regulations, commercial needs, media facilities, and broadcasting responsibilities. Additionally, we will also be traveling to Brunei for similar evaluations.

Bunei DPMM FC was last featured in the M-League during the 2005/2006 season.

The Borneo-based club also boasts a notable achievement, having won the Malaysia Cup in 1999. – July 1, 2025
