MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has not suspended the implementation of the P85 wage hike in the National Capital Region contrary to some reports, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said.
The Palace Press Officer was asked about the reported suspension of the P85 wage hike. "Hindi po. Wala pong suspension. Tuloy-tuloy po ito (No. There was no suspension. It will be implemented)."
Asked whether President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. received any request from private sector groups for the suspension or reconsideration of the wage hike order, Castro replied in the negative.
"Wala pong naipaabot sa atin kung may nag-request mula sa (We received no information of such request)," Castro said in Filipino during a press briefing.
"Pero wala pong utos na ito ay i-suspend (But there was no directive to suspend [it]," she added.
