MELAKA - The Melaka Chief Minister's Office has denied a viral claim that Melaka's Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Mohd Ali Rustam and Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh signed a document dissolving the Melaka State Legislative Assembly this morning.
Melaka Chief Minister's Media Communications Head Nor Hafizah Mohd Sati said her office had not, as of now, been informed of any such meeting as claimed in a viral WhatsApp message.
"As of today I have not been informed of any such meeting. Any statement from the Chief Minister's Office will be issued immediately. Everything circulating is completely untrue," she said in a statement on Tuesday.
She also urged the media not to believe any information going viral without confirmation from the Melaka Chief Minister's Office.
On Tuesday, messages spread across several WhatsApp groups claiming a meeting was held at 10.30am at the Guest Room, Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MITC, Ayer Keroh, today.
The messages claimed Ali and Rauf signed the document dissolving the Melaka state assembly at that meeting.
This morning, Rauf attended the National-Level Rukun Negara Speech Competition Final for the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka Perpetual Trophy at the MITC Ballroom at 9am.
He then attended the NAPIC Best Data Provider Appreciation Ceremony and What's New PRISM 2.0 Seminar for the Southern Zone at Dewan Hang Lekir, MITC, at 10.15am.
