National discus thrower Muhammad Irfan Shamsuddin failed to register a valid throw in the Glasgow 2026 final.

GLASGOW: National discus thrower Muhammad Irfan Shamsuddin ended the men’s final without registering a valid mark in the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games at the Scotstoun Stadium here today.

Muhammad Irfan was recorded as no mark after failing to produce a legal throw alongside Cameroon’s Lucien Wangba in a final featuring 13 athletes.

Australia’s Matthew Denny claimed the gold medal with a throw of 67.73m, while Jamaica’s Fedrick Dacres took silver (65.10m) and England’s Lawrence Okoye completed the podium with 64.45m.

The result left Muhammad Irfan, who won the men’s discus gold medal at seven consecutive SEA Games editions, without a place in the final.

In June, the 30-year-old improved his own national record with a throw of 62.87m at a competition in Veszprem, Hungary.
