Nor Farah is now world number one in women's lawn bowls ranking

NOR Farah Ain Abdullah, the national lawn bowls champion, has made Malaysia proud by becoming the world's number one player.

According to the recent women's world ranking update from the World Bowls Series, Nor Farah is leading the rankings with 723 points, well ahead of Scotland's Julie Forrest (683 points) and Australia's Kelsey Cottrell (676 points).

Nor Farah made history last year by winning the gold medal in the women's individual event at the 2024 World Indoor Lawn Bowls Championships in Guernsey, Channel Islands.

She also helped the national squad win a bronze medal in the mixed pairs event, while her teammate Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple secured a silver medal in the men's singles.

Minister of Youth and Sports Hannah Yeoh praised Nor Farah's determination and success, stating, "I am truly excited by her determination and dedication. Keep up the fight and continue to bring glory to Malaysia on the world stage." - March 6, 2025
