LENGGENG – Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad has denied that Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) have entered into a formal political cooperation for the Negeri Sembilan state election, describing the arrangement as merely an understanding over seat contests.

Speaking at the Kenduri Sekampung programme in Kampung Mendom today, Noraini said there was no memorandum of understanding (MoU) or official agreement between the two coalitions.

She said BN was contesting only in constituencies allocated to the coalition, while PN had fielded candidates in seats where BN was not contesting.

"It is not an agreement and we did not sign any MoU.

"BN is contesting in the seats allocated to us, while PN is contesting in seats where we are not fielding candidates," she said.

Noraini stressed that the arrangement should not be interpreted as political cooperation between the two coalitions.

"It is not cooperation at all. It is more of an understanding on where each party is contesting," she said.

She added that BN remained focused on securing enough seats to form the next Negeri Sembilan state government.

"Our hope is for Barisan Nasional to once again form the state government," she said.
