Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal was referring to two component parties in Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and not the coalition as a whole when he said a proposal for a united Sabah front was rejected.

These components were Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and Star who rejected his idea of a pact for all Sabahan parties.

AdvertisementAccording to a party source, Shafie approached PBS President Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili and Acting President Datuk Seri Joachim Gunsalam.

He said a similar reaction was received from Star President Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan.

He said it was mere talk but emphasized that he has been voicing for unity among all local parties in Sabah all this while.
