Aliff Aziz says his mother did not intentionally cover ex-wife Bella Astillah’s face in viral family photo, avoids further comments.
SINGER-ACTOR Aliff Aziz has denied allegations that his mother intentionally obscured his ex-wife Bella Astillah’s face in a family portrait that recently went viral on social media.
The drama unfolded when a video posted on Instagram Stories showed Aliff’s family enjoying festive treats.
Attentive netizens quickly noticed that a family portrait displayed on the wall appeared to have been modified or positioned to hide Bella’s face, triggering widespread speculation and online discussion.
Speaking to the New Straits Times, Aliff chose not to elaborate extensively, citing a desire to avoid exacerbating the situation.
“I do not think it is appropriate for me to share much. For one, that house belongs to my mother and father. Therefore, it is up to them how they choose to decorate their home,” he said.
While acknowledging the public’s curiosity, he maintained that the incident was entirely unintentional.
“I do not dispute the public’s right to make assumptions. What is certain is that it was not intentional. We were doing a food review at the time and did not expect people to have the time to freeze-frame the video,” he said.
Aliff expressed hesitation regarding further public commentary, noting his concern over potential backlash.
“If I speak a certain way, people might say I am exploiting religion. If I do not comment, they say I am aimless,” he added.
He emphasised that his priority is now his professional and personal rehabilitation.
“My focus now is on making a comeback. I have done enough foolish things since my teenage years; now, I just want to improve myself,” he said.
He pointed out by highlighting the importance of moving past public gossip to focus on his own growth.
“I do not want to think about what people are saying. If I do, I will never be able to pick myself up again,” Aliff said.
