Kota Kinabalu: The State Finance Ministry is improving its tax collection system so that it is more effective, said its Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

“First of all, we have to get our house in order…the tax collection system,” he said during question time at the State Legislative Assembly sitting, here, Wednesday.

“To my surprise, I found out that the number of staff tasked with the collection of billions of ringgit of taxes is not many.

“Hence, our first step is to increase the number of staff in that section.”
