In the women’s 1KM time trial final, Izzah clocked 1:06.229 seconds (s) to break the Asian record of 1:07.137s set in the morning’s qualifying event.

The silver medal in the event was won by Chinese athlete Luo Shuyan with a time of 1:07.365s while Hwang Hyeongso of South Korea emerged third (1:07.690s).

Commenting on her achievement Wednesday, the Sungai Petani rider was very happy with her performance in the 1KM time trial event which she contested for the first time at the ACC.

According to her, the support from all parties including her teammates and coaching staff helped her to win the gold in the event. “First of all, I feel very happy with the results recorded besides being able to break my PB (personal best record) and the Asian record. I will celebrate this moment of success and continue to improve myself,” she told reporters after the race.
