MELAKA, Aug 14 — Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has not set a timeframe for deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar’s leave from party duties as she plans to pursue further studies.

PKR secretary-general Senator Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said the party was prepared to welcome Nurul Izzah back to her duties when she was ready to resume her responsibilities.

“The deputy president will go on leave after the party’s National Congress.

“Just for this three-day event, she would continue to fulfil her duties, including officiating the AMK and Wanita congress, debate and winding up sessions, as well as delivering her closing remarks.”

Fuziah said this at a press conference after the opening of the 2026 National Congress of Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) and Wanita PKR, which was officiated by Nurul Izzah, at the Melaka International Trade Centre in Ayer Keroh today.

Meanwhile, Fuziah said PKR president’s policy speech was expected to address the party’s struggle, direction and future, as well as its institutional reform agenda.

“It is up to the delegates to decide which motions they want to bring forward and debate, including those on strengthening the party,” she added. — Bernama
