New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson, fresh off an NBA championship win, will host the upcoming season premiere of Saturday Night Live later this month, leading a roster of future guests that includes Inde Navarrette, Gracie Abrams, and Katseye.
Brunson, who helped the Knicks capture their first title in 53 years this summer, will make his hosting debut on Sept. 26 alongside musical guest Katseye, a pop girl group.
Basketball stars Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan and LeBron James previously hosted the long-running late-night comedy.
On Oct. 3, Dakota Johnson will host to promote her movie Verity, joined by Turnstile in their first SNL musical performance. Comedian Shane Gillis hosts for a third time on Oct. 10, with Rosalía making her second appearance as musical guest.
The show will take a two-week break before returning on Halloween night for Navarrette’s hosting debut.
The breakout star of the horror-thriller Obsession also appears in the upcoming X-Men film and The Waffle House Index. Abrams performs as musical guest for her second time.
The NBC sketch comedy series airs at 11:30 p.m. Eastern and streams live on Peacock.
SNL UK also recently announced a cast changeup, with Freddie Meredith announced as a brand new addition to the cast. Comedian Meredith, who starred in TV shows Big Boys and Such Brave Girls, will be a new permanent fixture alongside the 11 stars who steered the debut season to acclaim earlier this year.
SNL UK will kick off its second season on Sept. 12 with guest host Jeff Goldblum and musical guest CMAT.
The debut season’s hosts included Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Riz Ahmed and Ted Lasso actor Hannah Waddingham.
The series received a swell of support from the British public and comedy industry after debuting with Fey. In an interview with The Independent, comedian Nick Mohammed branded the show “the best thing that’s happened to British comedy” since Ricky Gervais’s sitcom The Office premiered in 2001.
All 11 members of the original SNL UK ensemble will return for season two, including Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi and Paddy Young.
