LABUAN: The Labuan Chinese Chamber of Commerce questioned the delay in restoring the oil and gas (O&G) crew sign-on/sign-off facility here. Its Chairman Datuk Wong Kii Yii said
“If such a simple issue could not be quickly resolved, how would Labuan be expected to recover from the economic gloom?” said its Chairman Datuk Wong Kii Yii.
Labuan, as an oil and gas hub, has been traditionally providing this service for O&G workers serving in offshore fields.
“This activity generated a significant impact on many segments of the local economy such as the F&B and hotel industries,” said Wong, adding hundreds of oilmen in various coloured uniforms were a common sight on the island.
