Former Brighton boss Chris Hughton believes Tottenham are in line for a good season.

Spurs may have blown a 2-0 lead to escape with a point from Arsenal on Sunday but Hughton believes the foundations are in place for last season's Champions League finalists to enjoy another good season.

Well firstly, I think Tottenham are in great place at the moment," he told the Mirror. Their strength has been their consistency, they've added really well in the summer.

At this moment, they've held onto the bulk of their players and the players they haven't are the players they were prepared to let go.

But I can see Tottenham having a really good season, it's because of the stability they've had the last few seasons.

At the top it could go either way. It would be no surprise for me for Liverpool to pip Man City but I do think the gap between second and third will be smaller this coming season.

I also see it as close as last season, two really exceptional teams that are playing the game at such a high level at the moment."
