SANDAKAN: Sabah DAP Chairman Datuk Frankie Poon said it is timely for the government to tackle the specialists shortage at the only government hospital, Duchess of Kent.
“When I was Health and People’s
Wellbeing Minister in 2019 to 2020, one of the important issues I had to address was the lack of medical specialists in Sabah. Unfortunately, I was not able to follow through due to change in the Federal and State Governments.
“I learnt that many housemen who later became contract workers were unhappy with the lack of permanent posts.
