
BARISAN Nasional (BN) maintained its dominance in the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat in today's by-election.
Mohd Kurniawan Naim Moktar, 32, continued the legacy of his father, the late Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, when he emerged with 19,852 votes, clinching a larger victory majority of 14,214 votes.
His challenger, Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman, who is also a former Sukau State Assemblyman (ADUN), obtained 5,638 votes, while an Independent candidate, Goldam Hamid, obtained 946 votes.
The official announcement of the results was made by Returning Officer, Dr Eddy Syaizul Rizam at the Official Vote Counting Centre at Dewan Sri Lamag, here, a short while ago.
