- The recall affects 2020 through 2024 models, stemming from front power seat motors that can overheat and potentially cause a fire, an issue for which they were previously recalled in 2024.
- NHTSA advises owners to park their Tellurides outdoors and away from buildings and other vehicles until the new repair is completed.
- Kia is aware of seven seat fires and 11 melted seat motors, which can occur if a dislodged or damaged seat switch causes the motor to operate continuously.
- Dealers will address the problem by installing an electronic fuse assembly to prevent continuous operation of the seat motor, with owners to be notified starting August 13.
