AmBank Group brought close to 100 senior editors and journalists together on 27 August 2026 for its annual Media Get Together at Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad in Kuala Lumpur. Held just days before Malaysia’s 69th National Day, this year’s gathering took an “Old Malaya” theme, bringing nostalgia and Malaysian cultural heritage into the evening.
The RinggitPlus team was there to take in the celebrations and had a great time catching up with familiar faces from the media and AmBank.
An Evening Of Entertainment
Live entertainment kept the night going throughout the gathering. We also got to watch AmBank Group’s latest National Day video, “Generasi Malaysia”. It explores the everyday moments that make Malaysia what it is, and why some things cannot be created from a single AI prompt.

The event was hosted by AmBank Group Chief Executive Officer Jamie Ling, together with Shazman Shahid, Head of Group Corporate Communications and Marketing, and Ridzuan Zulkifli, Head of Strategic Communications and Media Relations.
