
MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Ombudsman on Friday ordered a preliminary investigation into Senator Loren Legarda, her son Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste, and former Energy secretary Alfonso Cusi over complaints for plunder, graft, and conflict of interest involving P10 billion worth of solar projects, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said.
In May, the Department of Energy filed complaints before the Department of Justice against Leviste and other Solar Para sa Bayan officials over alleged violations of the company’s legislative franchise
The Manila Times sought comment from Leviste’s camp. No response had been received as of posting time.
