KINABATANGAN: A fatal collision between a passenger van and an ambulance occurred along Jalan Paris 2 here on Monday morning, leaving one person dead and 11 others seriously injured.
The accident, reported at 10.25am, involved a Foton View van and a hospital ambulance, with the Fire and Rescue Department arriving at the scene around 11am.
Rescuers extricated eight victims from the passenger van and four from the ambulance, with a medical officer confirming the death of one ambulance passenger at the site.
The remaining victims sustained severe injuries and were handed over to medical personnel for treatment, while the rescue operation was called off at 11.50am after the area was secured.
