SANDAKAN - A man who was suspected to be bitten by a crocodile while crossing the Seguntur River was found dead in a slum area near Taman Kenari Batu 7, here, on Sunday.

In an incident around 8 am, the victim known as Abdul, in his 40s was found with only the head floating in the river.

Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Jimmy Lagung said the victim was found on the third day of the search and rescue (SAR) operation.

"Only the victim's head was found floating in the river.

"The victim was then handed over to the police for further action," he said when contacted by Sinar Harian on Sunday.

Yesterday, Sinar Harian reported that a man was reported missing and was believed to have been attacked by a crocodile while crossing the river in a homemade raft to return home.
