KUNAK: The Polling District Centre (PDM) Aidilfitri Open House, which was carried out in the constituency was a new approach to connect with people in rural and remote villages, said Lahad Datu Umno Youth Chief, Dato’ Sri Anil Sandhu.
He said the idea was introduced to give people in faraway areas a chance to join and enjoy the festive mood of the Aidilfitri Open House, which was held at several locations around Kunak.
Unlike in previous years where the Aidilfitri Open House was only held for one day in Kunak town, this year, Anil worked with the youth, women, and local branches to organise multiple open house events at selected PDM locations across Kunak.
“Our aim is to give people who live far from the town a chance to celebrate Aidilfitri together at these open house events held in their nearby areas.
“Celebrations like Aidilfitri give us a platform to come together, forgive each other, and promote harmony among the people,” he said during the Aidilfitri Open House at Dewan Datuk Zainal Gunong on Saturday. Anil is a convert.
