According to Raja Petra Kamrudin (RPK), the fugitive blogger living in the UK, Anwar has lost the majority of support amongst Members of Parliament.

In a late evening video chat over YouTube from Manchester on Friday 5th January, he claims to have information and documentary proof that more than 120 MPs have signed Statutory Declarations (SD) that they have lost the confidence in Anwar as the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The reported loss of confidence in Anwar Ibrahim as Prime Minister, as indicated by the alleged statutory declaration from 120 MPs or more, raises significant concerns for Malaysia's political landscape.

If true, this could trigger a constitutional obligation for Anwar to resign, leading to a potential reshuffling of leadership.

The submission of these declarations to the Agong suggests a formal process to verify the claims.

If Agong should decide to interview the MPs individually, it could provide insights into their reasons for withdrawing support from Anwar. This scrutiny is crucial for upholding democratic principles and ensuring a transparent transition of power. It's almost a repeat of what happened previously when Muhyiddin Yassin claimed to have the majority support to be appointed as PM8.

RPK's revelation of potential candidates for the next Prime Minister, including Muhyiddin Yassin, Hishammuddin Hussein, and Dr Samsuri Mokhtar, adds another layer of complexity to the situation. The choice of a new leader will have far-reaching implications for the country's direction and policies in years to come.

As we await the Agong’s decision, the political landscape in Malaysia seems poised for a significant shift.

Anwar's political future hangs in the balance, and the coming week's developments may indeed determine whether he can retain his position or if a new leader will emerge to steer the nation forward towards a new direction.
