Mahathir is trying to continue to destroy this country? Please, my request to all media outlets, we have enough of this senile old former leader Mahathir Mohamad. He is not relevant anymore. He enjoys being the centre of attention and it has become very boring by the day.
Let the authorities investigate the allegations of he has become the wealthiest person in the world even 3 times richer than Bill Gates. If an independent investigation finds truth in the allegations, bring him to the courts. If found guilty, sentence him accordingly and if the wealth is 'stolen' from our country, order him to bring him back home to the rakyat. Now forget Mahathir Mohamad and let our present government do whatever it takes to bring the nation back to its feet. There are several issues that need urgent attention of the government according to the rule of law.
The country has been made a fool by rogue PMs starting with Mahathir, in his first term, followed by sleepy Abdullah Badawi, Najib Razak the kleptocrat, back to Mahathir the hypocrite and wannabe dictator who wanted his type of Unity Government where he became PM above all political parties by resigning abruptly hoping the YDP Agong would agree to his plan. His plan was politically scuppered by his lieutenant, Mahiadin Yasin, who outplayed him to become the first and only SD PM who used corrupt practices to buy support by creating the largest cabinet in the world for a country of 32 million population. That was the season of leaping frogs who benefited monetarily and in positions. PM Mahiadin declared an emergency aided by the Covid 19 virus. His legitimacy as PM was never tested by a vote of confidence in the Dewan Rakyat. It was during this emergency that gave the ultimate power to do what he likes including again from the government billions of ringgit. While doing this dirty business and ensuring he is not backstabbed, he let his partner, PAS, be given a free hand to spread the PAS styled Islam without any control. Thus the government of Melayu Isleh was established. PM Mahiadin hid behind the Agong until he was aware that he did not really have the majority support. Mahiadin handed over the reins of power to blurry Ismail Sabri, a lame duck PM who only took instructions from his leaders in UMNO. His Boss wanted the General Elections to be held immediately despite the monsoon season.

By the grace of the Almighty, there was a clear day during GE15 day. No political party won enough seats to form a government. Pakatan Harapan won 82 seats, Perikatan National (with the wealth of Mahiadin's Bersatu and the unmatched influence of PAS) obtained 73 seats, BN won 30 not including other political parties of Sarawak and Sabah.
Pakatan Harapan could have formed a minority government but his Majesty the Agong wanted political stability in the country which saw three PMs in the previous term of Parliament.
The Agong sent for PN to consider forming a Unity Government with other parties but Mahiadin objected and refused to work with Pakatan Harapan especially. Anwar as leader of PH was invited to the Istana to consider Agong's decree. Anwar agreed. UMNO also agreed followed by the Sarawak and Sabah coalition parties. Therefore the unprecedented Unity Government was established after the Agong consulted the Conference of Malay Rulers. Anwar Ibrahim was appointed PM of this government, the coalition of coalitions. But the name of the Unity Government stuck.
So let's stop politics and let the government do its work. Apart from the urgent items that need the attention of PM Anwar including the cost of living, keeping available food items like chicken, eggs, vegetables, cooking oil, etc, the stability of governance would ensure Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs), employment, independence of the judiciary, bring to book the corrupt practices and illegal wealth plus money laundering. The MACC must be led by a devoted and politically independent chief as is the appointment of the Attorney General of the same credentials. The AG's foremost priority must be to advise and interpret the Acts passed by the government. AG must not be a prosecution lawyer. That job must be given Solicitor General to appoint prosecuting attorneys.
Apart from all these jobs, it is also the government's duty to ensure racial harmony and religious tolerance among our fellow Malaysians. This is very important because Mahathir had divided us racially and Hadi Awang has been spreading the PAS version of Islam encouraged by the Melayu Isleh philosophy of the Mahiadin government.
Towards this end, I hope the government introduces (for want of a better title) a national service to all school leavers. Apart from military discipline, it would ensure a close interracial understanding and support. We are a nation of mixed racial and religious backgrounds. Malaysian citizens must be entitled to equal rights and meritocracy must be ensured to move forward positively. This is not to deny the rights under the Federal Constitution.
Another important enactment, as I see it, is for the government to ensure electoral funding is transparent and the right Election Commission to investigate the funding resources are legal.
After more than a month, we are proud to see the positive difference from the previous governments. We see ministers on the ground doing what is expected of them and showing their concerns for public affairs that have indeed benefited the rakyat.
