On the ground, especially after the recent state elections, UMNO is finding common ground with PN in several states, while at the federal level it remains in an alliance with Pakatan Harapan.

That contradiction is becoming harder for many supporters to understand.

The question is…

What exactly is UMNO getting out of staying in the Federal Government?

Can ordinary Malaysians honestly say life is better today?

Cost of living is still high.

Businesses continue to face new compliance burdens.

Many rakyat are struggling to make ends meet.

The government’s popularity has clearly taken a hit in recent elections, with many voters using the ballot box to express frustration.

So I ask again…

What’s so good about this government that UMNO should continue paying the political price?

Besides the fact that durian is dirt cheap this season… what has really changed for the better for the average Malaysian?

UMNO has already shown that it can work with different political partners at the state level when it believes it serves the interests of its members and voters.

Perhaps once the remaining state elections are over, it is time for the party to have an honest conversation.

Should UMNO continue in the current federal coalition?

Or should it chart a different course?

Whatever the answer, it should be based on one question.

Is this partnership benefiting the rakyat… or merely helping the current government stay in power?

Because in politics, loyalty should always be to the people first.

Not to any Prime Minister. Not to any coalition.
