In a stunning show of strategic brilliance, the Madani Government has found its favourite pastime — blaming Tun Mahathir and Tun Daim for everything under the Malaysian sun.
Because, clearly, when in doubt, it's always convenient to point fingers at the elderly statesmen rather than addressing real issues.
It's fascinating how every time there's a whiff of discontent, the government's reflex is to summon the names of Tun M and Tun Daim like some political incantation.
Because, obviously, two individuals well into their golden years are the masterminds behind every political manoeuvre, right?
The brilliant minds at the Madani Government seem to have a knack for deflecting attention from their "conditional and unstable support" by conjuring up tales of the Dubai Move.
What better way to distract the public than with a covert plan involving influential political figures and a plot twist worthy of a B-grade thriller?
And let's not forget the generosity of certain "Datuk Rahim," the government's designated talent scout, tirelessly attempting to woo opposition MPs.
Who wouldn't want to abandon their principles for a bag of mysterious rewards and the chance to join the ever-stable ship of the Madani Government?
By the way, Tun Mahathir broke his silence on the Dubai Move by taking a swipe at Anwar who had once been his deputy in the 1990s and claimed that attempts to form a backdoor government was the latter’s “expertise”, citing several incidents dating back to 2008.
“When all these moves were made, they were not considered treasonous, a betrayal, or would destablise the government, damage the economy, or violate the principles of democracy.
Backdoor governments are halal and sacred so long as one becomes PM,” he ended.
In conclusion, the government's blame game is nothing short of a masterpiece. Tun Mahathir and Tun Daim, the innocent seniors, must be flattered to be repeatedly cast as the villains in this political drama.
Meanwhile, the Madani Government, with its "strong position" and "two-thirds majority" (conditionally, of course), continues its quest for scapegoats rather than focusing on the real challenges at hand.
Kudos to the masterminds behind this theatrical diversion.
