Perikatan Nasional (PN) has drawn its moral sword again — this time against none other than Donald J. Trump, the master of spectacle and self-promotion, who’s scheduled to attend the ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur later this month.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has thundered in Parliament about justice for Palestine and the blood on America’s hands — stirring words, no doubt.

But let’s be honest: Trump probably didn’t even notice.

While PN breathes fire and calls for Malaysia to take a “principled and resolute stance,” Air Force One will still touch down at KLIA.

Trump will still be whisked through empty highways with outriders, and he’ll still deliver one of his signature speeches about American greatness and how everyone loves him (even if they don’t).

We’ve seen this movie before. Malaysian politicians rage and rally, make fiery speeches about Gaza, and threaten boycotts — all while making sure not to offend Washington too much, lest someone’s trade deal, visa, or investment plan gets delayed. A convenient balancing act wrapped in moral outrage.

Muhyiddin may have wanted to score a few easy points by invoking Palestine, but Trump isn’t losing sleep over Malaysian protests.

The same Trump who built a wall and banned Muslims isn’t exactly known for his empathy — nor for listening to reason, even from his own advisers.

Still, give PN credit: it’s a rousing speech, full of righteous fury and eloquence about ceasefires without justice. But while Muhyiddin denounces “collusion with the Zionist regime,” Trump’s plane is already fueled and the itinerary set.

So yes, let the placards wave, let the chants echo through Ampang Park — “Trump, you’re not welcome!”

But say what you will, he’s coming anyway.

Because that’s Trump. He doesn’t take “no” for an answer — and Malaysia, for all its moral posturing, won’t dare say it to his face.
