Recently, a PAS Selangor delegate while tabling a motion and debating the president's policy speech at the 72nd Pas Annual Muktamar, said despite Selangor being a wealthy state, issues of urban poverty, flooding, rubbish and the eroding position of Malays in urban areas continues to plague the state.
The said delegate further state that given trust and a mandate, PAS will administer Selangor 1,000 times better than Pakatan Harapan who has been governing the state since 2008, for the last 18 years.
The management of pig farming and the regulations surrounding places of worship are clear indication of a government that was alienated from the ordinary rakyat.
The handling of forest reserve degazettements like the Kuala Langat North Forest Reserve (KLNFR), Bukit Cherakah, and land near the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve have fueled arguments regarding transparency, the environment, and how aligned the administration is with public interest.
Typical with a government that has ran past its sell by date, the Selangor government blamed the controversial land issues were inherited from approvals granted by previous administrations arguing that halting these projects outright would expose the government to massive lawsuits and multi-million-ringgit compensation claims from private developers.
This government has been governing Selangor for the last 18 years – since 2008 and since then the country has seen 3 General Elections ie the 13th, 14th and 15th – and the government still give the excuse that the issues were inherited from previous government?
What have the present Selangor government done or was doing for the last 18 years?
Sleepwalking?
Enough is enough.
No more excuses.
Given the comments by a Kelantanese recently on social media where he said he is from Kelantan who had been living in Selangor for almost 15 years, despite him having an apartment and works in KL, he claimed that the situation is better back home in Kelantan, a state that was governed by PAS for the last 30+ years.
Obviously the rules and governance by PAS in Kelantan works for a Kelantanese to declare that his home state is better than in a state that he needs to `relocate’ to for him to earn a living to take care of his family.
So why don’t Selangorians give a chance and vote for PAS in the next election?
Selangorians will then `relocate’ themselves to stay and work in Kelantan and Terengganu where presumably, urban poverty, flooding, rubbish and the eroding position of Malays in urban areas does not exist.
And like the Kelantanese, Selangorians will be able to relate and reminisce that Selangor is better than Kelantan and Terengganu.
Data from the 2025/2026 economic reviews indicated that roughly 50% of the workforce physically situated in Kelantan and Terengganu earned less than RM1,750 per month while in Selangor, a single adult needs to earn a minimum of RM2,300 to maintain a decent standard of living.
With the upcoming completion of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) (slated for passengers by January 2027), travel time between Kelantan (Kota Bharu) and Selangor (Gombak) will be just 4 hours, making it feasible and palatable for Selangorians to `relocate’ to Kelantan and Terengganu, possibly permanently.
Selangorians should take this opportunity to let politicians, regardless of which political party or political coalitions not to take the ordinary rakyat for fools and for granted.
Selangorians can vote them in and can also vote them out.
