On March 12, 2025, OPPO unveiled the A5 Pro 5G and A5 Pro in Malaysia. The new smartphones focus on durability, advanced connectivity, and enhanced performance for outdoor adventures, gaming, and daily use. With IP69/68/66 water and dust resistance, Military-Grade Shock Resistance, and a range of AI features, these devices are built to endure tough conditions while delivering a premium experience.
Design and Durability
The A5 Pro 5G and A5 Pro retain the sleek, lightweight design that OPPO’s A Series is known for. The A5 Pro 5G comes in Mocha Brown and Bloom Pink, while the A5 Pro is available in Olive Green. Both devices are slim, measuring just 7.76mm thick (A5 Pro 5G) and 7.86mm thick (A5 Pro), and weigh 194g and 196g, respectively. The Mocha Brown variant features a matte texture, while Bloom Pink shines with OPPO’s signature Glow design to resist fingerprints. The Olive Green version has a vegan leather finish, adding a premium feel.
Despite their slim profiles, both phones are incredibly durable. The A5 Pro 5G boasts IP69 water and dust resistance, able to withstand water immersion, high-pressure water sprays, and dust intrusion. The A5 Pro features a similar level of protection, ensuring reliability in any environment. The phones also come with a double-tempered glass for better drop protection and a Military-Grade Shock Resistance certification, making them ideal for users in rugged outdoor settings.
Connectivity and Performance

The A5 Pro 5G offers OPPO’s AI LinkBoost 2.0 technology, which optimises network performance to ensure smooth streaming, calls, and gaming, even in areas with weak signal. This feature, combined with a 360° Surround Antenna design, ensures a stable connection, while the A5 Pro also benefits from AI LinkBoost for better signal stability. Both devices support OPPO’s BeaconLink, enabling Bluetooth calls at distances of up to 205 meters, ensuring users can stay connected even in remote areas.
For users who work outdoors, the A5 Pro 5G and A5 Pro feature an Outdoor Mode that prioritizes work apps, boosts network access speed, and extends screen timeout. The phones are also compatible with various glove types, allowing users to operate them without removing gloves in cold or wet conditions.
Under the hood, the A5 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, while the A5 Pro runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon® 6s 4G Gen1 chipset. Both models come with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which can be further expanded using OPPO’s RAM Expansion technology. These devices also come with the ColorOS 15 Lite, ensuring smooth performance even after extended use.
Gaming, Photography, and Battery Life
The A5 Pro 5G and A5 Pro cater to mobile gamers with AI GameBoost, which dynamically optimizes frame rates, and a VC Cooling System that keeps the device cool during long gaming sessions. The 1,000-nit Ultra Bright Display ensures visibility in direct sunlight, while dual stereo speakers and Ultra Volume Mode amplify sound for a fully immersive experience.
Both devices feature a powerful 5,800mAh battery with a lifespan of over four years. They also support 45W SUPERVOOC TM Flash Charge, capable of charging the device to 30% in just 19 minutes, ensuring users can stay in the game longer without worrying about battery life.
In terms of photography, the A5 Pro 5G and A5 Pro offer a 50MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera, a 2MP Portrait Camera, and an 8MP Front Camera. The cameras feature AI-enhanced capabilities like AI Portrait Retouching, AI Clarity Enhancer, and Underwater Photography, allowing users to capture stunning photos and videos in any environment.
