A man believed to be an Orang Asli in his 40s was found drowned in a pile of garbage and wood debris stuck under Jambatan Besi Sungai Berok, near Ladang Kilang Liziz (LPG) in Kuala Betis today.

GUA MUSANG - A man believed to be an Orang Asli in his 40s was found drowned in a pile of garbage and wood debris stuck under Jambatan Besi Sungai Berok, near Ladang Kilang Liziz (LPG) in Kuala Betis today.

Gua Musang district police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo, in a statement today, said the body was found by a backhoe driver who was carrying out cleaning works in the area at about 8.45am.

He said the police ruled out foul play and believed the victim, whose identity had yet to be ascertained, was swept by the current and drowned.

The body was sent to Gua Musang Hospital for post mortem and the police had classified the case as sudden death (SDR) pending further investigation. - BERNAMA
