SHAH ALAM - OrphanCare Foundation is turning the upcoming release of PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie into a fundraising campaign to promote family-based care for vulnerable children, with proceeds from a charity premiere supporting its programmes to help children grow up in permanent, loving homes.
The charity screening will be held on Aug 29 at GSC IOI Mall Damansara in Petaling Jaya, bringing together families during the school holidays while raising awareness of alternatives to institutional care.
Organised by the non-profit organisation, the event aims to highlight the importance of ensuring every child grows up in the love, safety and stability of a nurturing family.
OrphanCare Foundation Advocacy, Communications and Fundraising Manager Adlinna Abdul Alim said the film's themes of kindness, teamwork, courage and compassion closely align with the foundation's mission.
"PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie goes beyond entertainment by inspiring children with meaningful lessons about kindness, teamwork, courage and helping others.
"Every ticket purchased helps raise awareness of our mission to ensure every child has the chance to grow up in a loving family," she said.
Funds raised from ticket sales will support OrphanCare's programmes for vulnerable children and mothers in distress, including efforts to reintegrate children from institutional care into family-based environments.
General manager Zakiah A. Rahman said the charity premiere also encourages parents to prioritise quality family time during the school holidays.
"We hope parents will take this opportunity to step away from their daily routines and spend quality time with their children.
"It is a reminder that no matter how busy life becomes, family should always come first and children should always feel loved, valued and supported," she said.
Besides the screening, families can participate in activities at a dedicated Play Hall and learn more about OrphanCare's work to reduce reliance on institutional care by helping vulnerable children find safe and permanent families.
Tickets for the charity premiere are now available, with all proceeds supporting the foundation's family-based care initiatives.
