  • A genealogy report by Ancestry has revealed that Oscar-winning actor Meryl Streep and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour are sixth cousins.
  • The two 76-year-olds share fifth great-grandparents, Thomas Smith and Elizabeth Kinsey, who lived in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
  • Wintour, though raised in London, has maternal grandmother roots in Pennsylvania, while Streep was born and raised in New Jersey.
  • Streep is set to reprise her iconic role as Miranda Priestly, a character famously inspired by Wintour, in the upcoming film 'The Devil Wears Prada 2', due out on 1 May.
  • The pair recently had a viral interaction at Milan Fashion Week in September 2025, where Streep appeared in character as Priestly while filming the sequel.
