She said that based on the data obtained, the number of SPM candidates who dropped out is almost 30,000 nationwide.
Fadhlina said this prompted the ministry to intervene and identify the candidates' issues that resulted in them failing to sit for the exam.
"We have looked into the status of 30,000 candidates, investigating their whereabouts, reasons for not attending, and other factors.
"Alhamdulillah, it has been identified, and 10,000 have registered under the programme," she told reporters after attending the YES! Rock The School Mega Kedah Edition 2023 at Aimst University here on Sunday.
The Human Resources Ministry organised the programme, which Human Resources Minister V Sivakumar also attended in collaboration with the Education Ministry.
Fadhlina said her ministry is presently in the process of identifying an additional 20,000 candidates.
"Currently, 20,000 individuals are having their issues addressed. Some of the problems they are facing include family matters, employment, B40 families, and illnesses. The mentioned issues are all receiving attention.
"We extend our congratulations and gratitude to those who have registered. Our commitment is to enhance human values by allowing them to further their studies," she said.
Earlier, there were reports that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was concerned about the news that nearly 30,000 students did not take the SPM exam.
He instructed Fadhlina to thoroughly examine the issue to prevent it from recurring.
Following the recommendation, the Education Ministry has extended the registration date for private candidates taking the SPM exam in 2023 until June 30.
