
More than 100 students of The Lawrence School, Sanawar, were honoured for their academic and co-curricular excellence during the school’s annual prize-giving ceremony, where over 250 books and certificates were presented to achievers in recognition of their outstanding performance during the 2025 academic year.
The awards were presented by chief guest Vikramaditya Singh, Minister for Public Works and Urban Development, who congratulated the students on their accomplishments in academics as well as extracurricular activities.
Addressing the gathering, Vikramaditya emphasised the importance of humility in leadership. “A true leader is not the one who walks away with the trophy. A true leader is the one who picks up the trophy and maintains humility,” he said.
One of the world’s oldest co-educational residential schools, The Lawrence School, Sanawar, recognised excellence across more than 60 curricular and co-curricular disciplines. Among the awardees were over 100 students, including 60 girls, who were honoured for their achievements during the year.
A major highlight of the event was the recognition of students for their exceptional performance in the recently declared CBSE Board examinations. More than 10 students received cash awards for securing the highest marks in various subjects.
Fifteen students were awarded the prestigious Scholar’s Tie for their consistent academic excellence over the years. In recognition of achievements beyond the classroom, over 50 students received special awards for outstanding contributions in more than 30 co-curricular fields, including social work, multimedia, Indian music, Indian dance, robotics, band, fashion design, photography, dramatics, debating and artificial intelligence.
Keerat Sandhu received both the Durant Prize for English Literature and the Yog Raj Palta Memorial Art Trophy. The Cariappa Shield for the Best Boarding House was awarded to Himalaya House.
During the ceremony, the chief guest also released the annual school magazine, The Sanawarian, and book Trees of Sanawar.
Headmaster Ruchi Pradhan Datta congratulated the winners and lauded their dedication, hard work.
