An injured orange cat captured the attention of Malaysian netizens, as it was another victim of last Thursday’s Elmina plane crash tragedy.

The story of the cat, affectionately named Oyen was shared by a veterinary doctor known as Zulerwan through his Instagram post.

Zulerwan stated that the Ministry of Health (KKM) medical team found Oyen near the crash site, with injury on his body.

“This Oyen was around the area when the plane crashed in Elmina,” says Zulerwan.

Zulerwan thanked KKM medical team for saving the cat.

According to Zulerwan, Oyen had already been in stable condition and had its injury under their monitoring. It is also reported that Oyen had been eating non-stop.

Oyen suffered injuries as big as 15cm, from its ribs to its underbelly as well as sprained leg at its front right leg.

Despite the looks of the severity of the injury, Oyen did not suffer from any internal damage.

The cause of Oyen's injuries were still unknown and under speculation whether it was injured by plane debris or other object.

The extreme fondness of Malaysian Netizens for orange cats was shown as the post was bombarded with questions about Oyen’s condition.

While many are concerned about Oyen’s well-being, others show interest in adopting the cat, wanting to care for this stray cat.

However, there will not be any donation being made for the cat’s treatment as it was done by Zul Erwan Veterinary Clinic.

According to the report, Zulerwan has warned netizens to be careful and not donate to any funding donation ads on behalf of Oyen.

Zulererwan also stated Oyen is not available for adoption.

“The clinic receives many requests via Direct Message for Oyen’s adoption,”

“However, one of the KKM medical team had staked his claims and adopted Oyen”, says Zulerwan.
