MANILA, Philippines — Pasig City inaugurated a P2.4-million tricycle terminal in the West Bank where tricycles would no longer queue on the road and would instead line up inside the terminal, Mayor Vico Sotto announced, on Tuesday.
The project includes a two- to three-meter-wide extended carriageway for tricycles and a 42-meter-long waiting shed with urinal and drainage.
Sotto said a portion of the Floodway beneath the terminal site partially collapsed during Typhoon Karina, adding that the city coordinated first before allowing the project to proceed.
“This may not be the biggest infrastructure project, but it is important for both the safety and convenience of drivers and commuters,” Sotto said.
The P2.4-million terminal also has concrete BI pipes installed beneath alternating spans for structural stability, a lighting and electrical system with 13 waterproof fixtures, and a 105-meter cyclone wire interlink fence.
